A new procedure using poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP)-functionalized SiO2@FeOOH as precursor to synthesize 3D hierarchical flower-like Co3-xFexO4 (CF) hollow spheres has been developed. The as-obtained hollow spheres have a high specific surface area and exhibit very promising performance for the degradation of MB.
