The unusual effect of AgNO3 on the growth of Au nanostructures and their catalytic performance

An unusual effect of AgNO3 on the growth of Au nanostructures is observed. AgNO3 can block the growth of Au nanorods and allows facile preparation of high quality Au nanorods with length ranging from 0 nm to 70 nm, and size-controlled decahedra can be generated in polyol.
