Highly negatively charged superparamagnetic Fe3O4 colloidal nanocrystal clusters have been synthesized in a one-step solvothermal reaction using poly(4-styrenesulfonic acid-co-maleic acid) sodium salt anionic polyelectrolyte containing sulfonate and carboxylate groups as stabilizers.
