A novel ZnO microwire optical resonator with a parallelogram cross-section is fabricated via a facile carbothermal reduction method, which can effectively control the light field in two dimensions. Wave-guided FP cavity effects induced by PL signals in these microstructures are directly observed and systematically investigated.
